- Where is Transit Point assisted living retirement community (ALRC) located?
– It is located in Bhongir town within the limits of Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Area (HMDA). For more detailed directions please check the contact us section.
- How big in area is Transit Point?
– It is in a multi-generational 60 acre campus.
- What is the significance of the location?
– It is located within the municipal limits of the historical Bhongir Town with access to a number of hospitals, nursing homes, train station and is situated 1km from the Hyderabad -Warangal National highway. It is about a 20 min drive from YadigiriGutta& a Jain temple. It is less than an hour away from Hyderabad city center and an hour and a half from the international airport via the ring road.
- Can I buy a living unit at transit point?
– No. It is only for rent or lease.
- Is Transit Point (TP) is an old age home?
– No. It is an assisted living facility bridging the gap between a hospital and a nursing home. It is also a 55+ active adult community.
- How can I become a resident of TP?
– You have to go through a trial period to acclimatize with the facilities and see if you a right fit before you can sign up for a short term or long term rent/lease.
- Can I sub-let my living unit?
– No.
- Is there any restriction of accessing the facility during odd hours?
– No. It is accessible 24/7 and you will have to go through the security check to enter the facility at all times.
- Can I go on vacation and keep my living unit intact and will I have to pay for it?
–There is some flexibility that should be negotiated at the time of signing the lease/contract.
- Can I bring my own domestic help?
– No.
- Can I smoke or consume alcohol within the facility?–
It is only permitted in your private living units but not anywhere else on campus.
- Can I keep pets with me at TP?
–You are allowed to keep pets but there are restrictions on certain types and there are separate charges.
- Is the facility only for couples?
– No. Anyone over the age of 55+ are eligible.
- I am 54 right now and my wife is 50 can I block a room now and move later?
– Yes. We make certain exceptions on a case by case basis.
- Is there a facility for Internet browsing and wifi?
– Yes. - Is the facilities’ kitchen open round the clock?
– No. - Is there room service available at the facility?
– Yes. - Is there a wheel chair facility available?
– Yes. - Is there special accommodation available for individuals who have special needs and need 24 hour nursing care?
– In the first phase we are focusing on active adults and retirees but applications will be evaluated on a case by case basis.
- Is there any special facility for Palliative care or terminally ill?
– Not at this time.
- Can I maintain my own car and is there any alternative transport facility available if I don't have a car?
– Yes you can maintain you own car and there is ample parking space. We do provide transportation.
- Is power backup available at the facility?
- Backup generator is available.
- Can we celebrate special occasions like birthdays and anniversaries?
– Yes. We will be pleased to organize events.
- Do you have accommodation for family and friends?
– Yes. Separate guest houses are also available on premises.
- Are children allowed at TP and for how long can they stay?
– Yes. For a limited period of time.
- Are there any medical formalities that need to be completed before moving in?
– Yes. A detailed questionnaire will be provided along with the application form.
- Is there access to hospitals/nursing homes near TP?
– Yes. There are a number of nursing homes and hospitals within a 5 min drive from the facility and there is a super specialty hospital (NIMS) within a 10 min drive. We also have a 24/7 nursing facility, a doctor on call & ambulatory services.
- Is there a provision for restricted diets due to heath needs?
–Yes. We will accommodate your requests. In addition to that you have a kitchen in your units that you can utilize during odd hours.
- Who will maintain my medical files/reports?
– We will maintain a record of all your medical files in consultation with your primary care doctor.
- What are the types of accommodations available?
– Please visit type of accommodations section for more information. In addition we can customize as required.
- What kind of security is provided for the residents?
– Please see security section in the website for details.
- What is the status of completion of project?
– Phase 1 consisting of around 45 cottages and common care facility building including dining, Club house, fitness, physical therapy, game room, yoga center, library, indoor/outdoor theatre, sports, nursing care, etc. are completed and will be opening shortly. An announcement for inviting of applicants will be communicated shortly.
